MAISON VERDE

Apartment Renovation

"Mid-century apartment, reimagined through marble, oak, and light into discreet sophistication."

  • Perched atop a 1958 building in the heart of Kolonaki, this 115 m² residence has been reconfigured into a refined composition of openness, material richness, and discreet sophistication. The renovation transforms the formerly compartmentalized plan, relocating the kitchen to the center between dining and living spaces, and aligning these areas with the main façade to create an uninterrupted visual axis from one end of the apartment to the other.

A precise material palette defines the interior: deep-green Verde Guatemala marble marks focal moments such as the kitchen counters, entrance, and main bathroom; Italian travertine lends warmth to circulation spaces, the study, and bathrooms; and bespoke oak joinery unites the apartment through cabinetry, wall cladding, and ceiling installations. Brushed golden details appear in subtle gestures, adding a crafted precision to points of touch.

Key spaces carry distinct identities while belonging to a coherent whole. In the living room, a sculptural oak wall extends across the ceiling, contrasted by an exposed concrete beam that underscores the dialogue between raw and refined surfaces. The oak-lined study, bathed in daylight from four windows, is paired with a travertine-clad bathroom. In the main bathroom, monolithic marble volumes inspired by natural stone formations balance brutalist solidity with contemporary refinement, offering a tactile focal point to the private zone.
