Apartment Renovation

Located on the border of Kaisariani and Pagrati, this 77m² apartment from the early 1970s has been restructured into a bright, open-plan home. The renovation transforms a formerly compartmentalized layout into a unified interior that supports contemporary living, while maintaining a dialogue with the apartment’s original character and materials.
Curved geometries emerge as the defining formal gesture of the design, introduced at junctions of walls, ceilings, beams, and columns to soften transitions and enhance spatial flow. The material palette balances neutrality and boldness, with deep blue kitchen cabinetry welcoming guests at the entrance and green wardrobes animating the bedrooms. These saturated tones, drawn from 1970s domestic aesthetics, are set against off-white wall surfaces, creating a composition of calm and contrast.
Key interventions focus on light, openness, and spatial coherence. The entrance now leads directly into a reconfigured kitchen that merges with the living and dining areas, forming a luminous and sociable public zone. Private functions are organized around a separate corridor, maintaining privacy without isolation. By redistributing spaces and simplifying circulation, the apartment achieves clarity, fluidity, and a renewed sense of inhabitation.
